V&A Wm MorrisTaryn Hakala is an Assistant Professor of English at California State University Channel Islands. Her research interests lie at the intersection of language and literature, focusing on the linguistic performance of social identity and the ways in which stylistic variation is represented in literature. Her work has appeared in Victorian Studies, Philological Quarterly, and Victorian Literature and Culture. She is currently finishing her first book, Dialect Acts: Identity Performance on the Victorian Page and Stage.
